If you are a woman that enjoys the outdoors and often engages in outdoor sports then you may be a prime candidate for polarized sunglasses. Many women often overlook the benefits of polarized sunglasses over standard sunglasses since they do not understand the difference. Additionally, many women many believe that polarized sunglasses may not come in designer fashions, which is false. In fact, many women’s designer sunglasses are offered with polarized lenses using the same types of frames such as aviator, round, square, etc.

So what are the benefits of polarized sunglasses and how do they differ from standard lenses? Horizontal surfaces tend to reflect a lot of light. This can be seen most easily when looking into a lake on a sunny day. Much of the light is being reflected back off of the lake which is why you cannot see past the surface. The same thing happens while skiing when the light is being reflected off the snow or when you are driving and the light is being reflected off of the highway. Polarized lenses will filter out much of this reflective glare and only allow light that does not match its orientation. So for instance, if light is being reflected off of a horizontal surface, it will create a lot of horizontal light waves. Polarized sunglasses will filter much of that out and only allow vertical light waves through. Looking into the same reflective lake with standard lenses will show that with polarized lenses much of the glare will be removed and you will be able to see past the surface and into the lake unlike with standard lenses.

For those women who are involved in outdoor sports such as snow or water skiing, fishing or even driving on bright sunny days, they will enjoy the benefit of women’s polarized sunglasses since they will remove a lot of the annoying glare. Additionally, as stated before, polarized sunglasses can be as stylish and trendy as standard sunglasses and can be found with the same frames, however, with polarized lenses. The only difference will be cost with polarized sunglasses costing more. So if you are an avid outdoors woman and you are in the market for a new pair of sunglasses, consider purchasing polarized sunglasses to reduce the glare and protect your eyes.
