He had worked at the prestigious Perry Ellis design house but was booted out for the highly acclaimed grunge style he made for the company. Supporters of his work never stopped loving it, though as a collection in his own name gained much success which brought him to produce another in the name Marc by Marc Jacobs which also includes the distinct Marc Jacobs handbags. Today, Marc Jacobs is the creative director of Louis Vuitton.
